This graduation medal represents one of the most meaningful recognitions I received in high school—an award my peers nominated me for because I embodied the Catholic Graduate Expectation of being a Collaborative Contributor. It wasn’t something I applied for or expected; it was something earned through everyday actions, teamwork, and the way I showed up for my school community. The criteria for the award goes far beyond academics: it recognizes someone who works effectively with others, respects everyone’s contributions, strives for excellence with integrity, and uses their strengths to support the common good. Receiving this medal at graduation felt like confirmation that the effort I put into my school life truly mattered.

Throughout high school, I tried to be involved wherever I could—joining student council for two years, volunteering at events, participating in the arts department, and competing on the cross-country, track, and badminton teams. I always wanted to contribute, to help things run smoother, to make people feel supported, and to bring something positive to whatever group I was part of. This medal captures all of that. It’s more than an award; it’s a reminder of the community I helped build and the ways I learned to lead, support, and collaborate—skills and values that will continue to shape who I am long after graduation.
